Winter Sport

Every Friday afternoon the year 5s and 6s head down to Hornby High School to play Winter Sport. We get the option of playing Soccer, Hockey, Rugby, Netball. We are really lucky to get this opportunity.

Bronx plays Rugby for the SHS Reds and really enjoys it. He likes how every two weeks their team has a bye and they get to play Basketball. Bronx enjoys Caleb being in his team because he keeps on doing three-pointers in half court and gets all the points!

Mitchell plays Soccer  for SHS United. He likes playing soccer because it is a really unique team. He thinks his best skill is getting past people without loosing the ball.

Aliyah plays Hockey for the SHS pickup Sticks. She enjoys playing Hockey because it is her favourite sport. She likes attacking in a game which means trying to get the ball of the opposition.

Mikhanya plays Netball. She enjoys playing because her mum is the coach is her team winns lots of games.

All of the games are really fun. We would like to know if you guys play any Winter Sport.

  1. Thanks for sharing your photos from Winter Sport. I love seeing the team work and skill development over the weeks. We are very fortunate to have Hornby High School students supporting us with our sport programme.
I love coming down to watch and help with sport, seeing the people who have great skills supporting those who are still developing to compete against the other schools.

    2. Thank-you Mrs Huriwai for commenting this amazing comment. Also I am not in this hockey group because I am in netball. I always see my cousin "May" When I go through the gate to the netball court. Me and my friends have won in 2 weeks I do not want the other team to feel sad about it because the will be sore losers. See you later!
