Vapourising Machine

My Vapourising Design

This week for literacy my group The Boy In The Dress were learning about black holes and we read a book called Beyond The Black Hole. We also watched a few videos about black holes. Black holes are quite interesting.
In the book Beyond The Black Hole the characters in the story used a VAPORISING MACHINE to destroy planets and collect resources to help the Planet Earth. For our activity we had to create a vaporising machine on google drawings. It was fun creating all the shapes and labelling everything. I like learning about black holes!

Vaporising Machine

 Vaporising Machine

We have been reading a fiction story about going through a black hole. The story that we read is called Beyond The Black Hole. We had to design a Vaporising Machine. In my picture I put the moon, sun, stars and a black hole. Our overall task was to learn about black holes. We watched a few videos about black holes too. I had a lot of fun, making this picture. Check out this video.

Saving Maui Dolphins

This week in reading we have been learning about the problems Maui dolphins have to face everyday. I created a poster to show how we can help.
I found it challenging trying to find strong words to convince my audience.
I felt strongly about Maui dolphins so choosing my topic was easy.

More Morning tea

This week In Writing we were learning about persuasive writing. I found it hard to find strong words to put in my writing. I found it easy for find what topic I was going to write about. This Topic I chose was easy to write about.

Did you know that when children have a longer morning tea they get their work done faster? I believe that if we have 5 more minutes of morning tea. The children will get their work done fast and then be able to blog their work.

I believe that if you let us have a longer morning tea, we will exercise more and we will want to get our work done faster. As we will run around a lot more we will also learn better because we would have gotten rid of  most of the energy and we will be calm.

With a longer morning tea we get a larger brain break from all the work. We will also have a some time to go to the toilet and get a drink. With more time for eating  we will also get longer to play on the playground or in the hall if there is basketball.

Please keep in mind that if we have a longer morning tea we will get our work done faster. We will also have a better time to get our work blogged faster.

My First Day At Te Manu Tukutuku

My First Day At Te Manu Tukutuku

I feel curious as I walk around the school, because there's things that need to be explored.
I hear children walking to their classrooms, buzzing with excitement energy and eagerness.
I see the new playgrounds and basketball hoops being used and loved.
I smell the new paint and the fresh air binding together to make a new aroma.
I touch the soft, bouncy and comfy chairs.
Overall I feel proud about being a guardian and exhilarated about my future at this school.

👍WALT: write about how we feel about our new space. In our poem we had to include a Simile, Alliteration and Emotion words.

The New School

I see, the great streaks of blue, flowing down the walls and across the coal black carpet.
I feel the cool air in the huge classroom sweeping and skimming over everyone.
I hear the quiet whispers of other children murmuring to each other as they work.
I smell the vivid aroma of others using whiteboard markers on the bright glossy tables.
I touch, the soft, fluffy walls that feel like supple green grass, growing in the ground.
Overall, I feel exhilarated with all the shiny surfaces, the bouncing chairs and the cheerful laughs all around the school.

Te Manu Tukutuku Poem

I feel nauseous with excitement walking  into a new chapter of my life.

I hear screaming of excitement playing on the new playground.

I see smiles shining and sparkling all over the school.

I smell the clean and refreshing fragrances as the new furniture.

I touch all different textures, soft, rough, rugged, all kinds on the walls.

I feel proud to be able to put other people's lives in my hands at road patrol.
